Original Printed number Handwritten number Increase One of these drums was in my garage yesterday as I was helping a local drummer add some toms to the bass he had just bought on Craigslist. These all are in a range of serial numbers a little higher than the serial numbers seen on guitars during a short period when Gretsch used drum labels in guitars (serial number range for drum labels in guitars documented by Gretsch guitar historian Edward Ball so far is 26000-26800). These are in a close group of serial numbers and all were increased to new numbers which were a little over 100 greater than the original numbers. I have recorded five examples of Gretsch Stop Sign Badge drums with serial numbers which were scratched through and changed in pen.
