To all the betatesters and Paradox programmers and support staff, I want to express my sincere thanks for helping to make the game, Manual, and Strategy Guide enjoyable, quality productions. I think that “Don’t Be Cilli” is a relatively simple achievement that will end up being rated as Medium difficulty on the EU4 wiki. If you do this, it will allow you to seize the Dalmatian provinces on the Adriatic Sea if the Republic of Venice becomes embroiled in an early war like they did in my game. Keep in mind that in order to build a winning strategy, you need to be familiar with the most important game mechanics. Because that is a way to potentially avoid a second war against Hungary, I recommend taking the province of Rijeka directly south of Cilje in the first war against Hungary and Croatia. They are very informative and cover things that the manual/game does not make apparent. Until an official strategy guide becomes available, I suggest you watch some of the Let's Play EU IV videos on youtube.

If you look closely at my image above from right before I took the decision to form Croatia, you will see that I also a few provinces from Venice. The EU series seems complicated your first game or two, but is immensely rewarding once you get a grasp on the basics. Since the objective is to form Croatia, you must completely eliminate Croatia from the map in order to take over their tag. If you can achieve that favorable starting setup, then all you need to do is start a war against Croatia (who is in a personal union under Hungary) to regain your core in their territory. I was fortunate enough to get this achievement on the first try, and that mainly occurred due to Austria deciding to ally me. The goal of the achievement is exactly what it sounds like: you have to form a new nation so that you are no longer Cilli.Īs you can perhaps see from the header image, I decided to form Croatia, and I believe this is probably the easiest nation to form by far. The first new achievement I sought to try is called “Don’t Be Cilli,” and it uses the English pun to encourage you to play as a new Slovenian culture county sandwiched between Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. However, that everyone is able to get in on the fun of trying to conquer the new achievements that have come alongside the update.
I have not yet purchased the DLC since I would like to see more reviews first.

The 1.30 Emperor update just came out for Europa Universalis IV this week, and I have been enjoying it so far.
